My God is Good

That my God is good is an understatement. I want every reader of this blog to join me in thanksgiving to the father of Mercy, Ancient of Days, The I am that I am.

Saturday 12th July 2008, was a day that will forever remain indelible in my life and that of Christ Life Church, Ogba-Lagos. Its a day that the magnificient power of God was in display.

Here is the story. We were headed for the Annual Women Convention of my church (Christ Life Church) at the Headquarters in Ibadan. Myself and my wife and two other women and a kid were in the car (a 2 weeks old brand new Toyota Corolla 2008 model) We left Lagos 8am and were travelling along Lagos-Ibadan expressway. We met a serious traffic jam and have to turn to follow an alternate route via Ofada in ogun state.

Just before entering Ibadan, shortly before the quarry, a careless eastern bound bus driver swerved to my side and in fear I swerved away and lost control of the vehicle.
The rest was history as i couldn't control the vehicle any longer. We were just skidding right and left on the highway until we finally found our car in a ditch inside the bush. All glory to God. None was dead in the accident, none sustain fracture. Everyone came out alive.

Please don't forget to say a Word of Thank You to God on my behalf. I would have been dead now if not for His mercy. How can we explain 4 adults and a kid been dead. All from the same church, same day. My God triumph over every foe against my home and my church.

Praise God with me.

The Beautiful Adebowales

The beautiful ones are not yet born is the title of a novel by a Nigerian author. The Adebowales proved this assertion very wrong. They are beautiful inside out. I remember vividly when i first came in contact with Bro. Yimika as he is known then before he was ordained as a deacon. He has this mien of true frienship around and all over him. His level of dedication to service and humility is very commendable, and thats why Wale Odegbile couldn‘t hide his joy at the opportunity to comment, when he said“ when i ran to lagos during the Modakeke/Ife communual war, and was asked to quit the church premises along side other, it was Bro Yimika who accomodated me and even allow me to sleep on the same bed with him. The experience was like a first night on a sheraton bed. That is a beautiful testimony. My wife added hers when she commented about Mrs Adebowale thus: "shes very generous". The weavon she wore on her wedding day was a gift from Mrs Adebowale. She even surprise her the very last send forth sunday by offering her the gold jewelries she wore to the church. Saying she just want to give her a parting gift. that again is another beautiful testimony. The Adebowales, please allow me to join the entireChrist Life Church, Ogba and my family, to wish you well in The United State of America. The city of Florida will yield you good harvest, you, your children and your children's children. Amen.

Meeting of minds

This two? They are inseparable. Yemisi Azaino and Maria Taire. They are both two wonderful colleagues of mine. Let me say a little about each of them. Maria is gentle to a fault. She can't even hurt a fly. Yemisi is a jolly good fellow, you can't have any dull moment around her. She is a copywriter here while Maria works in Client Service Dept.

SOME MOTHERS DO HAVE THEM

My family consist of Me, My wife, My son (Precious 7years) and My daughter (Praise 3years). Its fun to watch our kids grow and I am happy to share some internal communications between Mum and Child (Precious) on this page, of course Praise is the Messenger.

Scenario 1:

Precious sent a note to her Mum through Praise to come and inspect the kitchen after he has cleaned it.

Scenario 2:

On another ocassion. Praise and Precious wanted to go out and play with our neighbours kids. Here is the communication between Precious and her mum and Praise being the messenger.
PRECIOUS: Mummy I want me and Praise to go outside pls. Thanks Mum.
and the Mum replied: Not now.
PRECIOUS: Pls I beg you in the name of God you hear, Okay.

This is funny! and I'm going to keep this till he's of Age. So I can show him what stuff he is while growing up. Its valentine. I've got to go now. See ya.

I AM BACK

Its been a while that I have been absent. Never mind me. Its Bluebird thats has taken all over me. We set a target of N600million in 2007 and by Mid Year its like its not going to happen. But trust God for His mercies, by November we overshoot the budget and we ended up with about N1.4billion. All through the help of God and the dexterity of our EVC Mr Kunle Ogunmefun and our MD (The one popularly known as Bobby) Mr Yinka Daramola. It may interest you to know that every member of staff were happy because of the surplus declared in December as bonus and the profit shared by member of staff alone is in the excess of over N2million. Infact, some of us went home with Ghana Must Go (Bag).

This is year the budget is N2.5million and we are hoping and counting on God to do it again. We will be going on retreat on the 22nd of this month to put our strategy together towards moving this agency forward. I'll keep you posted.
